Synthesis

The 2,5-dibromonitrobenzene was dissolved in DMF, ethyl acetoacetate and potassium carbonate were added and the reaction was carried out at 80 degrees Celsius; after that, 3 equivalents of iron were added and the reaction was carried out at 120 degrees Celsius in glacial acetic acid, which ultimately gave 6-bromo-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one) in 90% yield.
