SIMETON Usage And Synthesis
UsesSimeton-d3 (N2,N4-Diethyl-6-(methoxy-d3)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine) is deuterium labeled Simeton[1].
DefinitionChEBI: A methoxy-1,3,5-triazine that is 6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine in which one of the hydrogens of each amino group has been replaced by an ethyl group.
Production MethodsInformation is currently sparse but, based on the chemistry of methoxy substituted triazines, simeton is made by first forming a chloro substituted triazine core, then sequentially replacing the chlorine atoms with ethylamine nucleophiles, and finally introducing the methoxy group via substitution or methoxylation of the remaining reactive position. The resulting mixture is purified to yield the solid herbicide.
