| Synthesis | GENERAL PROCEDURE: 1-methyl-3-amino-4-cyanopyrazole (0.03 mol) was dissolved in 7 mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid at 0°C and stirred at room temperature for 5 hours. After completion of the reaction, the mixture was poured into ice water and neutralized with 28% ammonia solution to pH 7.
