| Synthesis | Take 0.1 mol of 2,5-dichloroaniline, add 9 ml of HCl and 25 ml of water, and heat the solution in a round-bottom flask at about 60-70°C for about 1 hour. Cool the mixture for about 1 hour, and then slowly add 0.1 mol of ammonium thiocyanate to the solution. Now reflux the solution for about 4 hours. Add 20 ml of water to the solution while stirring constantly.
