IL-12R亚基是细胞因子受体超家族的成员，功能性高亲和力IL-12R由至少两个β型细胞因子受体亚基组成，每个亚基独立地对IL-12表现出低亲和力。IL-12 Rβ1（白细胞介素-12受体亚基β-1）也称为IL-12RB1、CD212。作为一种白细胞介素受体，它以低亲和力结合白细胞介蛋白-12，并参与IL12的转导。它与IL12RB2结合，形成IL12的功能性高亲和力受体。还与IL23R结合形成白细胞介素-23受体，该受体可能通过激活Jak-Stat信号级联在IL23信号转导中发挥作用。
