SLAM受体家族由六个成员组成，分别命名为SLAM（CD150）；2B4（CD244）；Ly-9（CD229）；CD84；自然杀伤细胞、T细胞和B细胞抗原（NTB-A；小鼠中的Ly108）。大多数（如果不是全部）免疫细胞类型表达一种以上的SLAM家族受体。所有六种SLAM相关基因都位于人类和小鼠1号染色体上400-500千碱基（kb）的基因组片段内。这一特征意味着编码SLAM家族的基因是通过连续基因复制产生的。
