产品用途：2-乙基己醇，化学物质，用于生产增塑剂、消泡剂、分散剂、选矿剂和石油填加剂, 也用于印染、油漆、胶片等方面。无色有特殊气味的可燃性液体。凝固点-75℃，相对密度0.8344（20/20℃），折射率1.4316，闪点81.1℃，粘度（20℃）9.8mPa·s，蒸气压（20℃）48Pa。能与醇、醚、氯仿混溶，溶于约720倍的水，20℃时在水中的溶解度仅0.1%。与水形成的共沸物，水为20%，共沸点99.1%。
注意事项

(2)操作时，请带上口罩和手套，穿专业的防护服。
(3)吸入时，迅速脱离现场至空气新鲜处。保持呼吸道通畅。如呼吸困难，给输氧。如呼吸停止，立即进行人工呼吸，就医。
(4)皮肤接触时，脱去污染的衣着，用大量流动清水冲洗。眼睛接触：提起眼睑，用流动清水或生理盐水冲洗。就医。
(5)误食时，饮足量温水，催吐。洗胃，导泄。就医。如呼吸停止，立即进行人工呼吸。就医。

[Usage]
2-Ethylhexanol is used as a flavor, fragrance and plasticizer. It is used to prepare diesters bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate. It reacts with nitric acid and used as an cetane improver. Its ester, 2-ethylhexyl ester is a component of sunscreen octocrylene. Further, it is used as a low volatility solvent for resins, animal fats, waxes, vegetable oils and petroleum derivatives. In addition to this, it is used in plasticizer, dioctyl phthalate, which is used in the production of polyvinyl chloride products.
[Storage]
Perstorp recommends storing 2-Ethylhexanol in stainless steel or aluminum containers. Storage under a nitrogen atmosphere is recommended. The maximum storage temperature has not been determined, but when stored as recommended temperatures up to 40°C is unlikely to present any problem.
[Toxicity]
2-Ethylhexanol (2-EH) has low oral and dermal acute toxicity, but is moderately irritating to the skin and severely irritating to the eyes. In subchronic repeated-dose studies, liver effects were found, including liver enlargement and peroxisome proliferation in rats and mice. 2-EH is not carcinogenic to mice and rats. No evidence of neurotoxicity was found. Available data indicate that 2-EH is not mutagenic; it is not developmentally toxic. And overall exposure to 2-EH as an inert ingredient in pesticide products is not expected to be harmful to any population.
