The TAX1BP1 antibody is a tool used to detect Tax1-binding protein 1 (TAX1BP1), a cellular adaptor protein involved in regulating immune and inflammatory responses. TAX1BP1. initially identified through its interaction with the HTLV-1 Tax protein, plays a critical role in modulating NF-κB signaling, a pathway central to inflammation, apoptosis, and immune regulation. It functions as a component of the A20 ubiquitin-editing complex, facilitating the deubiquitination of key signaling molecules (e.g., RIPK1) to suppress sustained NF-κB activation. This protein also participates in autophagy, stress responses, and maintaining cellular homeostasis.

Antibodies targeting TAX1BP1 are widely used in research to investigate its expression, localization, and interactions in various contexts, including viral infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. These antibodies (polyclonal or monoclonal, often raised in rabbits or mice) enable techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and co-immunoprecipitation. Studies utilizing TAX1BP1 antibodies have revealed its role in limiting excessive inflammation and its potential as a therapeutic target in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel disease. Validation via knockout controls or siRNA is essential to ensure specificity, given the protein's involvement in overlapping pathways. Its dysregulation has been linked to chronic inflammation and oncogenesis, underscoring its biomedical relevance.
