The CIDEB (Cell Death-Inducing DFFA-like Effector B) antibody is a research tool targeting the CIDEB protein, a member of the CIDE (Cell Death-Inducing DFF45-like Effector) family. CIDEB plays a dual role in lipid metabolism and apoptosis regulation. It is primarily expressed in metabolic tissues like the liver and adipose tissue, where it regulates lipid droplet fusion and lipid storage. CIDEB interacts with other lipid droplet-associated proteins (e.g., PLIN1) to influence lipid homeostasis, with implications in metabolic disorders such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and obesity. Its apoptotic function involves binding to DNA fragmentation factors in certain stress conditions.

CIDEB antibodies are critical for studying these biological processes. They enable protein detection via techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, helping researchers map CIDEB's tissue distribution, subcellular localization, and expression changes under physiological/pathological conditions. Some studies also explore CIDEB's potential as a therapeutic target for metabolic diseases.
