The interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein-like 1 (IL1RAPL1) is a protein encoded by the *IL1RAPL1* gene located on the X chromosome. It belongs to the IL-1 receptor/Toll-like receptor superfamily and plays a critical role in neurodevelopment, particularly in synapse formation and neuronal connectivity. IL1RAPL1 mutations are associated with X-linked intellectual disability (XLID), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and neuropsychiatric conditions. The protein interacts with presynaptic partners like PTPδ to regulate excitatory synapse development and modulates intracellular signaling pathways involved in dendritic spine maturation.
