RL-QN15 is a peptide composed of 15 amino acids, containing a pair of disulfide bonds in its sequence. RL-QN15 can accelerate wound healing in mice. The exploration of the potential mechanism of RL-QN15 suggests that it activates the MAPK and Smad signaling pathways and selectively regulates macrophage cytokine secretion. This triggers the proliferation and migration of skin cells, as well as the dynamic regulation of TGF - β 1 and TGF - β 3 in wounds, and can accelerate re epithelialization and granulation tissue formation, thereby promoting skin regeneration. In addition, RL-QN15 has also shown therapeutic effects on chronic wounds, skin fibrosis, and oral ulcers. The newly identified peptide (R1-QN15) in this study can serve as a candidate for developing new healing promoting agents.
