EK1 is a peptide-based coronavirus (CoV) fusion inhibitor with broad-spectrum antiviral activity against multiple coronaviruses. It demonstrates significantly enhanced pan-coronavirus fusion inhibition. EK1 effectively suppresses SARS-CoV-2. EK1 can form stable six-helix bundle (6HB) structures with the N-terminal heptad repeat sequences of both short α-hCoV and long β-hCoV.
