The UBE2V2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 V2 (UBE2V2), a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. UBE2V2. also known as UBE2V1 or CROC-1. plays a role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS), a critical pathway for protein degradation and post-translational modification. Unlike canonical E2 enzymes, UBE2V2 lacks the catalytic cysteine residue required for direct ubiquitin transfer, functioning instead as a non-canonical E2 variant. It typically forms heterodimers with UBE2N (UBE2V2-UBE2N complex) to catalyze Lys63-linked polyubiquitination, a process involved in non-degradative signaling pathways such as DNA repair, NF-κB activation, and inflammatory responses.

UBE2V2 antibodies are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation to investigate its expression, localization, and interactions in cellular contexts. Dysregulation of UBE2V2 has been implicated in cancer progression, neurodegenerative diseases, and immune disorders, making these antibodies valuable for studying disease mechanisms.
