CFAP410 (Cilia and Flagella Associated Protein 410), also known as C11orf30 or SDCCAG8. is a conserved ciliary protein critical for the assembly and stability of primary cilia and flagella. It localizes to the basal body and transition zone, playing a role in anchoring microtubules and regulating ciliary protein trafficking. Structurally, CFAP410 contains coiled-coil domains that facilitate protein interactions, particularly with components of the intraflagellar transport (IFT) system. Mutations in the CFAP410 gene are linked to ciliopathies, including Jeune asphyxiating thoracic dystrophy, short-rib polydactyly syndrome, and retinal degeneration, underscoring its importance in skeletal development, photoreceptor maintenance, and organ function.

Antibodies targeting CFAP410 are essential tools for studying ciliary biology and disease mechanisms. They are widely used in immunofluorescence, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry to visualize CFAP410 expression, subcellular localization, and interaction networks. These antibodies aid in identifying pathogenic variants, assessing protein loss in knockout models, and exploring cilia-related signaling pathways (e.g., Hedgehog signaling). Commercially available CFAP410 antibodies are typically raised in rabbits or mice, validated for specificity using knockout controls or siRNA knockdown. Their applications extend to diagnostic research for ciliopathies and therapeutic development, offering insights into how CFAP410 dysfunction disrupts cellular homeostasis and contributes to multisystemic disorders.
