The NADK2 antibody is a research tool designed to detect and study NAD kinase 2 (NADK2), a mitochondrial enzyme critical for cellular metabolism. NADK2 catalyzes the phosphorylation of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD⁺) to generate NADP⁺, a coenzyme essential for redox balance, antioxidant defense (via glutathione regeneration), and biosynthetic pathways like lipid synthesis. Unlike its cytosolic counterpart NADK1. NADK2 operates within mitochondria, linking its activity to energy metabolism and mitochondrial function.

NADK2 antibodies are widely used in techniques such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence to investigate protein expression, localization, and regulation in various tissues and disease models. Researchers employ these antibodies to explore NADK2's role in metabolic disorders, cancer (where altered NADPH levels affect tumor growth), and neurodegenerative diseases. Dysregulation of NADK2 has been implicated in mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, making it a potential therapeutic target.
