**Background of JADE1 Antibody**

JADE1 (gene name: *PHF16*) is a PHD zinc finger-containing protein implicated in transcriptional regulation, chromatin remodeling, and cancer biology. It was initially identified as a binding partner of the von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) tumor suppressor protein, which is mutated in hereditary renal cell carcinoma. JADE1 interacts with VHL as part of the ubiquitin ligase complex, modulating hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) signaling and influencing cellular responses to oxygen levels.

JADE1 is structurally characterized by tandem plant homeodomains (PHDs), which mediate chromatin interactions, and a coiled-coil domain for protein oligomerization. Studies suggest its involvement in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and DNA damage repair. In cancer, JADE1 exhibits dual roles: it acts as a tumor suppressor in renal and liver cancers, where its expression is often downregulated, but may promote tumorigenesis in other contexts, such as breast cancer.
