The TCL1B antibody is designed to target the T-cell leukemia 1B (TCL1B) protein, a member of the TCL1 family, which includes TCL1A, TCL1B, and MTCP1. These proteins are implicated in regulating cell survival and proliferation, primarily through interactions with AKT kinase, enhancing its activation and promoting oncogenic signaling pathways. TCL1B shares structural and functional similarities with TCL1A, both forming homodimers or heterodimers to stabilize AKT, thereby influencing cell growth and apoptosis.

The TCL1 family gained attention due to its association with T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. Chromosomal translocations involving the TCL1B locus (e.g., rearrangements with T-cell receptor genes) can lead to its aberrant overexpression, contributing to malignant transformation of T-cells. While TCL1A is more extensively studied, TCL1B is less characterized but believed to play overlapping or distinct roles in specific cellular contexts.

TCL1B antibodies are critical tools in research, enabling the detection of TCL1B protein expression in normal and cancerous tissues. They aid in studying its role in hematologic malignancies, immune regulation, and potential as a diagnostic or prognostic biomarker.
