背景信息

VE-cadherin (Vascular Endothelial cadherin), also known as CDH5 or CD144. is a calcium-dependent transmembrane protein critical for maintaining endothelial cell-cell adhesion. As a key component of endothelial adherens junctions, it mediates homophilic interactions between adjacent cells through its extracellular cadherin repeats, while its intracellular domain binds to catenins (e.g., β-catenin) to link the actin cytoskeleton. This structural role stabilizes vascular integrity, regulates vascular permeability, and supports angiogenesis. Dysregulation of VE-cadherin is implicated in pathological conditions such as inflammation, tumor angiogenesis, and atherosclerosis.

VE-cadherin antibodies are indispensable tools for studying endothelial biology. They enable detection of VE-cadherin expression and localization via techniques like immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and Western blotting.
