The protein has a calculated MW of 58.4 kDa. The protein migrates as 60-65 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

δ样蛋白1（DLL1）亦称果蝇Delta同源蛋白1（Delta1或H-Delta-1），其结构包含一个DSL结构域及八个EGF样结构域。该蛋白可被MIB（MIB1或MIB2）泛素化，进而引发内吞作用并最终降解。在表达分布方面，DLL1在心脏和胰腺中高表达，脑组织和肌肉中表达水平较低，而在胎盘、肺、肝及肾脏中几乎不表达。此外，DLL1作为Notch受体的配体发挥作用，既能阻断祖细胞向B细胞谱系分化，又能促进具有T细胞/NK细胞前体特征的细胞群出现。
