Proadrenomedullin (1-20) (human) is an effective peptide that inhibits blood pressure and catecholamine release, released by chromaffin cells. It inhibits catecholamine secretion in PC12 pheochromocytoma cells with an IC50 value of approximately~350 nM and specifically acts on nicotinic cholinergic receptors in a non competitive manner. It is a peptide composed of 20 amino acids.
