CALP3 is an 8-peptide similar to Ca2+, serving as an effective Ca2+ channel blocker that enhances the affinity of Ca2+-binding proteins. It is a polypeptide composed of eight amino acids. CALP3 can also mimic increased Ca2+ levels by modulating the activity of calmodulin channels and pumps. Additionally, CALP3 has the potential to regulate apoptosis in diseases such as AIDS or ischemia-induced neuronal loss.
