Marstacimab (also known as PF-06741086) is an investigational, human monoclonal antibody that functions as a tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) antagonist. It specifically targets the Kunitz-2 domain of TFPI, a key endogenous anticoagulant protein that regulates the initiation phase of the coagulation cascade. By blocking TFPI, marstacimab enhances thrombin generation, thereby promoting more effective clot formation. It is being developed as a subcutaneously administered, once-weekly prophylactic treatment for hemophilia A and hemophilia B (with or without inhibitors), with the goal of reducing the frequency of bleeding episodes.
