Rusferide is an injectable hepcidin mimetic peptide containing 20 amino acids and two alkanoic acids. It has been used in Phase 2 proof-of-concept clinical trials for polycythemia vera, Phase 2 studies for PV patients with elevated hematocrit, and Phase 2 studies for hereditary hemochromatosis.
