Ofatumumab (brand name Kesimpta® for multiple sclerosis; previously Arzerra® for leukemia) is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets CD20, a cell‑surface protein expressed on B cells. It binds to a distinct epitope on CD20 compared to rituximab and is designed for subcutaneous administration (in MS) or intravenous infusion (in leukemia). In multiple sclerosis, it depletes circulating and tissue‑resident B cells, modulating immune‑mediated inflammation in the central nervous system. It is approved for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (RMS) and was previously approved for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Its subcutaneous formulation offers convenient at‑home dosing for MS patients.
