BIMAX2 is a high-affinity nuclear localization signal (NLS) peptide composed of 26 amino acids. It can mimic the activity of classical NLS, competitively bind to importin α, and thereby inhibit the interaction between NLS-loaded proteins and importin α. BIMAX2 can be used to study the role of RBBP4 in regulating nuclear import efficiency and cellular senescence.
