TAT-Gap19 is a Cx-mimetic peptide, a specific connexin43 hemichannel (Cx43 HC) inhibitor polypeptide with a sequence containing 20 amino acids. TAT-Gap19 does not inhibit the corresponding Cx43 GJC. TAT-Gap19 can cross the blood-brain barrier and alleviate liver fibrosis in mice.
