Alpha Notoxin GID is a numbing peptide neurotoxin composed of a cyclic peptide of 19 amino acids. It is a selective antagonist of nAChR with IC50 values of 5 nM (α 7), 3 nM (α 3 β 2), and 150 nM (α 4 β 2). Alpha Notoxin GID is a small peptide rich in disulfide bonds that has the potential to inhibit chronic pain. The α - Coronation GID contains a C-terminal carboxylic acid ester, so replacing it with a C-terminal carboxylic acid amide will result in the loss of α 4 β 2 nAChR. The α - Notoxin GID can be isolated from species of the Conus genus.
