Uses

Hexadimethrine bromide can be used to transfect mammalian cells with DNA. It can be used to increase the efficiency of lipofection transfections.
Hexadimethrine bromide has been used for lentivirus infection in cells. It has been used for infection of cells with retroviral supernatant.

Uses

Antiheparin agent. A 3mg quantity has been found to enhance peptide degradation in automated sequential analysis.

Uses

Used as a protein/peptide carrier for protein sequencing.

Purification Methods

Purify it by chromatography on Dowex 50 and/or by filtration through alumina before use [Frank Hoppe-Seyler's Z Physiol Chemie 360 997 1979]. It is hygroscopic, and its solubility in H2O is 10%.
