Sulphur Red 6 Chemical Properties, Uses, Production

Chemical Properties

Purple-brown powder. Dissolved in water, dissolved in sodium sulfide solution is reddish brown to brown. Dark blue-purple in concentrated sulfuric acid, brown precipitate after dilution; yellow-brown in alkaline insurance powder solution, return to normal color after oxidation.

Uses

Sulphur Red 6 is mainly used for dyeing cotton, linen, viscose fibers, vinylon and their fabrics, as well as for blending various coffee colors with a reddish tint. It can also be used with sulfur yellowish brown 5G and sulfur black BN as the three primary colors for blending various grays, camels, light browns, etc. It can also be used for leather dyeing.
