Uses

[Arg8]-Vasotocin is a vertebrate neurohypophyseal peptide of the vasopressin/oxytocin hormone family[1].

Definition

ChEBI: A heterodetic cyclic peptide that is homologous to oxytocin and vasopressin. It is a pituitary hormone that acts as an endocrine regulator for water balance, osmotic homoeostasis and is involved in social and sexual behavior in non-mammalian vertebrates.

Safety Profile

Experimental reproductiveeffects. When heated to decomposition it emits toxicfumes of SOx and NOx.
