Chemical Properties

Lenampicillin Hydrochloride (Lenampicillin Hydrochloride): C21H23N3O7SHCl, [80734-02-7]. White to yellowish-white powder with a strange odor and bitter taste. Very soluble in water, soluble in methanol or ethanol, insoluble in ether. Melting point 145°C (decomposition). Acute toxicity LD 50 male and female rats, male and female mice (mg/kg): about 10,000, about 10,000, 8294, 8492 orally; 4362, 4471, 3576, 4284 subcutaneous injection; 876, 838, 711, 775 intravenous injection. Acute toxicity LD50 dog (mg/kg): >300 oral.

Uses

LENAMPICILLIN is semi-synthetic penicillins and prodrugs of ampicillin, but are 2-4 times more potent. They can be taken orally, are well absorbed, and have a high efficacy rate. Their uses are similar to ampicillin, and they can be used as a substitute. They are used for acute bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess, pharyngitis, superficial secondary infections of traumatic and surgical wounds, periodontitis, otitis media, etc.
