N,N-Dimethyldecanamide is used in pharmaceutical, agrochemicals, veterinary drug and intermediate for organic synthesis.
Synthesis
N,N-Dimethylcapramide is currently the commonly used synthetic method is in the presence of a catalyst, decanoic acid is first dehydrated with dimethylamine to produce a crude product, and then distilled to obtain N,N-dimethyldecanamide.
