Potassium cobaltinitrite (Yellow 40) is traditionally used as an artists' pigment (Pigment Yellow 40) and as an analytical reagent to precipitate potassium ions.
Chemical Properties
Yellow, microcrystalline powder.Slightly soluble in water; insoluble in alcohol.
Uses
As an oil- and water-color pigment; in painting on glass and porcelain; in coloring rubber; in separation of Co from Ni; in Co analysis.
