MAGNESIUM NIOBIUM OXIDE Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Application
Magnesium niobate (MN) is a precursor in lead magnesium niobate-based MLCC ceramic powder. In existing technologies, it is synthesized through a high-temperature solid-state reaction of niobium pentoxide (Nb₂O₅) and basic magnesium carbonate. Magnesium niobate can be used to prepare a magnesium niobate microwave dielectric ceramic, which is made from 93.6–99.57% magnesium niobate, 0.43–6.4% vanadium pentoxide or vanadium dioxide, and 0–3% lithium carbonate, lithium fluoride, or lithium oxide by weight.

Synthesis
A method of preparing magnesium niobate, characterized by taking magnesium oxide (MgO) and niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) and mixing them according to a dosage ratio of 1:1 in molar ratio, and then placing them into a screw mill to grind for 6-11 hours; or mixing the above raw materials according to the same ratio, adding a submerged amount of deionized water to the mixture, and grinding and mixing them uniformly in a mortar and pestle, and then placing them into an oven to bake them to slight dryness under 80-100C, and then placing them into a screw mill to grind for 5-8 hours, to obtain magnesium niobate, which has the general formula: MgNb2O6. 100 until slightly dry, and then put into the screw mill grinding 5 to 8 hours, can be obtained magnesium niobate, the general formula is: MgNb2O6.
