Uses
It is an alkaloid isolated from Radix et Rhizoma Leonticis. It shows various pharmaceutical properties: bacteriostatic, wound healing, cytotoxicity, immunosuppression, acetilcholinesterase inhibition, and inhibition of the activity of tumor angiogenesis.
Synthesis
Taspine is a compound isolated from the total bases of Caulophyllum robustum, which was prepared by using silica gel as the stationary phase, chloroform:methanol:ammonia volume ratio (15:1:0.1) as the mobile phase, collected at 100mL per volume, concentrated under reduced pressure, detected by thin-layer silica gel plate, and combined with 55-76 portions, and recrystallized from methanol, to obtain the pure product of taspine
