Suitable for modified Gomori Trichrome stain
Uses
Employed as an indicator for complexometry. It is also applied as a stain used in modified Gomori Trichrome stain. Used as a stain for cytology.
Preparation
aniline diazo, and 4,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acidcoupling.
Definition
ChEBI: An organic sodium salt that is the disodium salt of 4,5-dihydroxy-3-(phenyldiazenyl)naphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid. It is used as the plasma stain in trichrome techniques.
Biological Activity
Chromotrope 2R is used for the staining of microsporidia in body fluids and stool samples. It is used in modified Gomori′s trichrome staining. Chromotrope 2R has high affinity for phospholipids and is used for the staining of mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum membrane in histological samples.
Properties and Applications
red. Soluble in water for red orange, soluble in soluble fiber element, moderate soluble in alcohol and acetone is red light purple, insoluble in other organic solvents. The strong sulfuric acid for wine red, diluted into pink; In nitric acid solution for red, and then to orange. Add hydrochloric acid in aqueous solution for the red orange; Add thick sodium hydroxide solution for deep red wine.
