Uses
(all-Z)-5,8,11,14-Eicosatetraenylphosphonofluoridic Acid Methyl Ester, is a cannabinoid CB1 receptor and fatty acid amide hydrolase inhibitors.
Definition
ChEBI: Methyl Arachidonyl Fluorophosphonate is a phosphonic ester.
Biological Activity
Potent, irreversible inhibitor of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH, anandamide amidase), the enzyme responsible for anandamide hydrolysis (IC 50 = 2.5 nM). Also binds irreversibly to CB 1 receptors (IC 50 = 20 nM).
Biochem/physiol Actions
MAFP is a selective, irreversible inhibitor of both calcium-dependent and calcium-independent cytosolic phospholipase A2, but not secretory phospholipase A2. MAFP is also a potent acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.
