Production Methods
Diofenolan is commercially synthesised through a process begins with the preparation of a 4-phenoxyphenol intermediate, which is reacted with a chloromethyl-substituted 1,3-dioxolane under basic conditions to form the ether linkage. This reaction typically uses solvents like dichloromethane and bases such as potassium carbonate, with temperature control to ensure regioselectivity and minimize side reactions.
