Palmitoyl pentapeptide (Pal-KTTKS or PPP) is a peptide derivative conjugated to palmitoyl that improves KTTKS permeation across the skin. It is one of the peptides produced by collagen degradation, and it induces collagen synthesis. PPP readily penetrates the skin layer because it interacts well with the skin and effectively works on the fibroblasts in the dermal layer. By stimulating the synthesis of collagen and glycosaminoglycan, it increases the activity of skin cells. It is very effective at enhancing skin elasticity and preventing the effects of aging, and it can increase skin thickness. Moreover, it is known to have a significant capacity to heal skin damaged by ultraviolet or external factors. PPP has a molecular weight of 802Da and low solubility in water[1].
