Some of its derivatives such as electroluminescent 3, 6, 9, 12-tetrasubstituted chrysenes are useful in electroluminescent applications such as being used in the organic light emitting dioxide (OLED). They are also relates to electronic devices in which the active layer includes such a chrysene composition. Chrysene is a potential carcinogen.
