FENURON TCA Usage And Synthesis
Production MethodsFenuron TCA was produced by first manufacturing the parent herbicide fenuron through the established phenylurea route, in which aniline derivatives were condensed with dimethylcarbamoyl chloride or related reagents to form the substituted urea core. Once technical-grade fenuron was obtained and purified to remove by-products typical of urea chemistry, it was converted into the trichloroacetate salt by controlled reaction with trichloroacetic acid.
Mechanism of actionPhotosynthetic electron transport inhibitor at the photosystem II.
Pesticide TypeHerbicide
