| Synthesis | GENERAL METHOD: Complex 2 (0.05 mmol) was added to a 5 mL sealed tube containing 2-iodoanisole (0.5 mmol), 1H-pyrazole (0.75 mmol), sodium hydroxide (1 mmol), and dimethyl sulfoxide (1 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at 100 °C for 12 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, it was cooled to room temperature and the reaction was quenched with 10 mL of water, followed by extraction with ethyl acetate (3 x 20 mL). The organic phases were combined, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by fast column chromatography on silica gel with petroleum ether/ethyl acetate (10:1 to 5:1) as eluent to give 1-(2-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole.
