DescriptionCy3 azide is a functionalized cyanine dye containing an azide moiety. This allows for it to undergo copper-catalyzed Click Chemistry reactions with alkynes, DBCO and BCN. The cyanine3 dye is has an excitation and emission wavelength of 555/570 nm.

UsesCyanine3 azide chloride, an analog of Cy3 azide, is a potent green fluorescent dye. Cyanine3 azide chloride uses click chemistry coupled with Alkyne-labeled proteins. Cyanine3 azide chloride can be detected by fluorometers, imagers, and microscopes. (λex=684 nm, λem=710 nm)[1][2]>. Cyanine3 azide (chloride) is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
