| Chemical Properties | Green Solid | | Uses | Phenothiazine (P318040) derivative. | | Synthesis | A mixture of aluminum trichloride (0.17 g, 1.24 mmol) and methanesulfonyl chloride (0.17 mL, 2.34 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 mL) was stirred for 15 min at 0 °C, followed by the addition of 1-(10H-phenothiazin-10-yl)ethanone (0.30 g, 1.24 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h, followed by dilution with ice-cold H2O and extraction with dichloromethane (3 x 20 mL). The organic layers were combined, dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure.
