| Application | 1H-pyrazolo[4,3-C]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid is an intermediate in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical research and development, and can be used in laboratory organic synthesis and chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis processes. | | Synthesis | The general procedure for the synthesis of 1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid and compound (CAS: 936923-48-7) using compound (CAS: 932702-12-0) as starting material was as follows: in a microwave reaction vessel, N,N-diisopropyl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridine-3-carboxamide (0.800 g. 0.00325 mol) was mixed with 10 M aqueous hydrogen chloride solution (3.00 mL). The mixture was heated at 120 °C for 10 min. Heating at high absorbance settings is required to avoid pressure buildup. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was diluted with water and neutralized with 3 N sodium hydroxide solution. The resulting white precipitate was collected and analyzed and found to be a mixture of 1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid (47%) and monoisopropylamide (25%). The mixture could be used in subsequent steps without further purification. | | References | [1] Patent: US2007/78147, 2007, A1.
