| | Po-Pro 1 Usage And Synthesis |
| Description | PO-TAP-1 (Oxazole Blue Monomer, also known as PO-PRO®-1) is a blue fluorescent carbocyanine monomeric dye. PO-TAP-1 is a cell-impermeant nucleic acid stain that is nonfluorescent in the absence of nucleic acids but exhibits a multiple fluorescence enhancement upon binding to dsDNA.
The bright fluorescence signal and low background make PO-TAP-1 ideal for staining nucleic acids on microarrays, as well as for nuclear and chromosome counterstaining in multicolor fluorescence labeling experiments.
The dye is used to detect and count cells and microorganisms, perform nucleic acid sequencing, amplification, and hybridization, and as a temperature sensor. | | Chemical Properties | Appearance: Blue solution ex/em: 435/455 nm Extinction coefficient (ε): 50100 cm1M1 Quantum yield (Φ): 0.39 | | Uses | Oxazole blue is a multifunctional dye. Dyes are important tools in biological experiments. They can help researchers observe and analyze cell structures, track biomolecules, evaluate cell functions, distinguish cell types, detect biomolecules, study tissue pathology and monitor microorganisms. Their applications range from basic scientific research to clinical A wide range of diagnostics. Dyes are also widely used in traditional fields such as textile dyeing, as well as in emerging fields such as functional textile processing, food pigments and dye-sensitized solar cells. | | References | [1] Sultana M, et al.
