| | 2,4/2,6-Diaminotoluene Usage And Synthesis |
| Uses | 2,4/2,6-Diaminotoluene: 1. Primarily used as a raw material for the synthesis of TDI and as a polyether initiator. Polyether polyols synthesized using TDA as an initiator produce uniform and fine foams, which can improve the thermal insulation performance and low-temperature dimensional properties of the foam. 2. It can be used as an epoxy resin curing agent and dye intermediate. 3. Synthesized as aromatic diamine curing agents for polyurethane elastomers and epoxy resins: dimethylthiotoluenediamine (DMTDA) and diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA). | | Safety Profile | A poison by ingestion,
intraperitoneal, and intravenous routes.
When heated to decomposition it emits
toxic fumes of NOx. See also other toluene
dtamine entries and AROMATIC MINES. |
