| | DANSYLAMIDE Usage And Synthesis |
| Chemical Properties | white to light yellow fine crystalline powder | | Uses | 5-(Dimethylamino)-1-naphthalenesulfonamide (DNSA) was used as starting reagent in the synthesis of 2,6-disubstituted pyridines, 6-substituted 2,2′-bipyridines and 6,6′-disubstituted 2,2′-bipyridines. It was also used as fluorescent probe in the determination of concentration of human carbonic anhydrase II-DNSA in solutions. | | Synthesis | Synthesis and characterization of dansylamide (DNS-NH2): a solution of sodium sulfide (43 mg, 0.18 mmol) in 0.4 mL H2O was added to a stirred 2 mL solution of dansyl chloride in 17 mL acetonitrile. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The solvent was then evaporated under vacuum. The residue was purified by rapid chromatography (DCM / MeOH 50:1) to give pure DNS-NH2. yellow solid in 40 mg, 91% yield. |
