| Synthesis | 3-Hydroxy-2-amino-5-bromopyridine (124 mg, 0.65 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (3 mL), followed by the addition of 50% aqueous chloroacetaldehyde (0.2 mL, 1.3 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 60 °C overnight. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by concentration under reduced pressure and the residue was recrystallized by acetone to afford 6-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-8-ol hydrochloride (151 mg, 92% yield). | | References | [1] Patent: WO2009/155389, 2009, A1.
