Production MethodsMenazon is commercially synthesised by reacting 4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine with formaldehyde and O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphoric acid. The production process begins with 4,6-diamino-1,3,5-triazine (a triazine ring with two amino groups), which is condensed with formaldehyde to introduce a methylene bridge. This intermediate is then reacted with O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphoric acid or its chloride derivative to form the final compound.

Mechanism of actionSystemic. Acetylcholinesterase (AchE) inhibitor.
